Library Syllabus Information 

For your syllabus or Canvas resources

The SBVC Library provides many resources, including the following:  

  • Research help in the Library or via Chat (with Zoom), phone, or email

  • Weekly library workshops for students (on Zoom and in LIB-109)

  • Reliable research materials: scholarly/peer-reviewed/academic articles, magazines, dissertations, newspapers, films and videos, pro-con, background information, books, ebooks, and much more! 

  • Research guides 

  • Library books 

  • Student computer lab

  • Small-group study rooms

  • Print and copy (cash only: bring change or dollar bills)

1. Reference Librarians: Check the library homepage for hours, to chat, and to start research

  • Visit the Library Reference Desk for research help

  • Use 24/7 Chat Reference (from the library homepage)

  • email refdesk@valleycollege.edu

2. The Library: Check the library homepage for hours and updates

  • check out library books and return materials

  • use a computer  

  • print or make copies (cash only!)

  • study on the first or second floor

  • check out a small-group study room

  • get research help

3. Orientations: Schedule library orientations that can be tailored to your class assignment or student organization.

  • Librarians present library information to your students

    • in the library computer classroom 

    • in your classroom

    • or on Zoom

4. Research Guides: Visit the Library Databases and Research Guides page to access OneSearch and databases
